The park, sprawled in an area of around 390 sq km and located at the junction of Aravalli & Vindhya ranges, has much undulating topography with rolling hillocks, expansive grasslands, large lakes, and a jungle of thick deciduous trees. Its two rivers, Banas & Chambal, flowing on the north & south respectively, are the main source of water in Ranthambore.

Inhabitants of Ranthambore

Ranthambore is the realm of the Royal Bengal Tiger, and thousands of tourists visit here for a glimpse of this ruler of Ranthambore. However, the jungle is also inhabited by leopards, monitor lizards, sloth bear, jackal, fishing cat, nilgai, desert fox, and many more mammals. You may also see pythons on the tall trees and crocodiles sunning on the lake banks. The water bodies in the park are flocked by a variety of birds from serpent eagles & vultures to sandpiper and kingfishers who interrupt the silence of the jungle with their whistles & calls.

- Memorable Experience !

Caper Travel designed a three week tour to Rajasthan and Goa for four of us in a private car during March. The driver, guides and everyone associated with the organisation were professional, reliable and punctual! We had an amazing time, made even better because of the good accomodation choices and extra additions, such as elephant and camel ride.
Thank you so much Caper for giving us a truly memorable experience of your beautiful country!
