An iconic temple and the most photographed structure in Chennai, Kapaleeshwarar Temple is known for its brilliant colors, towering Gopurams, a sacred tank, exquisite sculptures, and a host of myths & legends. Originally believed to be built by the Pallavas in the 7th century, this Shiva temple was destroyed by Portuguese invaders, and then rebuilt in the 16th century.
This church is believed to be built over the remains of St. Thomas, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ, who traveled to India in 52 AD, died here in 78 AD and was interred at this site. Tall steeples, dome-shaped windows, stain glass interiors, and elegant pews characterize this beautiful church. Do visit St. Thomas’ tomb behind the church and check out the museum showcasing his relics.
The first English fortress in India, Fort George, built-in 1644, is now home to the state legislature. A tour of this impressive structure takes you through its sprawling grounds that house beautiful churches and a fascinating museum displaying the artifacts of the bygone era.

Endless stretches of sand, picturesque sunrise & sunsets, and cool breeze greets you at Marina Beach, one of the longest urban beaches in the world. Just come back from an amazing 2 week trip to India. First we done the golden triangle which we chose to do the train trip from Delhi to Agra a must you have to do if not just for the experience. All the cities were wonderful. In mumbia we done a city tour and ended our trip in the taj for afternoon tea another must. They really looked after us thank you all.
