Maharashtra Special

Heritage

Maharashtra is a treasure-trove of legacy from the exotic paintings & sculptures of Ajanta & Ellora caves to the colonial architectural marvels like the Gateway of India and the Prince of Wales Museum in Mumbai.

Hill Stations

Perched snugly in the lap of Western Ghats, the cozy hill stations of Maharashtra promise a delightful retreat away from its bustling cities. Painted in a thousand shades of green and home to cascading waterfalls, the rain washed hills of Maharashtra are a must visit during monsoon. Lonavla, Khandala, Matheran, and Mahabaleshwar are some of the cozy nooks in the hills of Maharashtra.

Pilgrimages

A melting pot of religion and culture, Maharashtra is home to Haji Ali’s Tomb in Mumbai, the sacred city of Nashik that celebrates “Kumbh Mela” every 12 years, and the divine destination of Shirdi devoted to Sai Baba.

Alluring Destinations of Maharashtra

Mumbai

The alluring capital of Maharashtra and a gateway to India, Mumbai rules the roost as the financial power house and home to the buzzing Bollywood, the billion dollar film industry of India. Home to colonial edifices, lively beaches, an extensive urban forest and loaded with glitz and glamour; Mumbai’s ‘Queen’s Necklace’ or ‘Marine Drive’ epitomizes its dazzling aura.

Aurangabad

This “Tourism Capital of Maharashtra” is a major pit stop for the ancient caves of Ajanta & Ellora dating back to 2nd century BC. Ajanta Caves are a masterpiece of rock sculpture while Ellora caves are known for their exotic frescos and murals.

Shirdi

Shirdi is the spiritual realm of Sai Baba, a 19th century saint, who steered his followers on the path of humanity through his teachings & abstinence practices. Shirdi is thronged by his devotees beyond the boundaries of religion, caste or community.

Nashik

An ancient city located on the banks of Godavari, Nashik finds mention in various ancient religious texts including the Hindu epic- the Ramayana. Nashik’s spiritual aura is reflected in its magnificent temples and the celebration of Kumbh Mela, once in every 12 years.

- Memorable Experience !

Caper Travel designed a three week tour to Rajasthan and Goa for four of us in a private car during March. The driver, guides and everyone associated with the organisation were professional, reliable and punctual! We had an amazing time, made even better because of the good accomodation choices and extra additions, such as elephant and camel ride.
Thank you so much Caper for giving us a truly memorable experience of your beautiful country!
